Autonomy (73)
How long a battery charge lasts depends not only on battery capacity but also on other aspects of the phone’s hardware and software. The DXOMARK Battery autonomy score is composed of three performance sub-scores: (1) Stationary, (2) On the go, and (3) Calibrated use cases. Each sub-score comprises the results of a comprehensive range of tests for measuring autonomy in all kinds of real-life scenarios.

Stationary
Vivo Y72 5G
Best: Vivo Y72 5G (104)
A robot housed in a Faraday cage performs a set of touch-based user actions during what we call our “typical usage scenario” (TUS) — making calls, video streaming, etc. — 4 hours of active use over the course of a 16-hour period, plus 8 hours of “sleep.” The robot repeats this set of actions every day until the device runs out of power.
The Xiaomi and the Oppo performed very similarly during our TUS tests, with both lasting 67 hours (more than 10 hours longer than the Realme). The Xiaomi managed power better at night, but its battery indicator is not accurate. When the 11T’s gauge shows 20% charge remaining, there is really only 16.4% left. The Oppo’s gauge is more accurate, which gave it the edge over the Xiaomi here.

On the go
Samsung Galaxy M51
Best: Samsung Galaxy M51 (96)
Using a smartphone on the go takes a toll on autonomy because of extra “hidden” demands, such as the continuous signaling associated with cellphone network selection, for example. DXOMARK Battery experts take the phone outside and perform a precisely defined set of activities while following the same three-hour travel itinerary for each device.
With the exception of calls, the Xiaomi 11T put in a disappointing performance in our mobility tests for all cases with its screen on: it is below average for social apps, navigation, and camera among all phones tested in our database so far, and comes in behind the Oppo and Realme devices.
Autonomy for on the go use cases (full charge)
Calibrated
Samsung Galaxy M51
Best: Samsung Galaxy M51 (100)
For this series of tests, the smartphone returns to the Faraday cage and our robots repeatedly perform actions linked to one specific use case (such as gaming, video streaming, etc.) at a time. Starting from an 80% charge, all devices are tested until they have expended at least 5% of their battery power.
Turning in an excellent performance here, the 11T just edges the Reno6 5G and soundly beats the GT 5G in our calibrated use cases.
Autonomy for calibrated use cases (full charge)
Charging (97)
The DXOMARK Battery charging score is composed of two sub-scores, Full charge and Quick boost. Full charge tests assess the reliability of the battery power gauge; measure how long it takes to charge a battery from zero to 80% capacity and from 80 to 100%; and measure how long and how much power the battery takes to go from an indicated 100% to an actual full charge. With the phone at different charge levels (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%), Quick boost tests measure the amount of charge the battery receives after being plugged in for 5 minutes.
All three smartphones in this comparison support fast charging. The Xiaomi 11T delivers a great charging experience, but with their smaller batteries, its competitors did even better.
Power consumption and battery level during full charge
Full charge
Black Shark 5 Pro
Best: Black Shark 5 Pro (121)
When fully depleted, and like its stablemate 11T Pro, the Xiaomi 11T takes 3.5 minutes to get out of slow charging mode and reach peak charging (phones typically exit slow charging in a few seconds). In addition, the Xiaomi charger reaches maximum power (measured at 64W, not 67W) for only a few seconds and quickly starts to decrease. Meanwhile, its Oppo and Realme rivals turn on quickly and stay at their maximum power for at least four minutes. Moreover, they take only around 34 minutes to achieve a full charge, whereas the Xiaomi takes 46 minutes.

Quick boost
Realme GT Neo 3
Best: Realme GT Neo 3 (111)
Although it is eclipsed by the Oppo Reno6 5G’s performance, the Xiaomi 11T device nonetheless posts an excellent score here, providing 8 hours of additional autonomy gain when charging for 5 minutes with at any level under 60% power remaining. This is not the case for either the Oppo or the Realme devices; for them, the higher the percentage of power remaining when quick boosting, the less autonomy they gain.

Efficiency (85)
The DXOMARK power efficiency score consists of two sub-scores, Charge up and Discharge rate, both of which combine data obtained during robot-based typical usage scenario testing, outdoor mobility testing, charging evaluation, and power measurements, and then take into consideration the device’s battery capacity.
The Xiaomi 11T is a well-balanced device, racking up robust scores in both charge up and discharge.
Charge up
Nubia RedMagic 7 Pro
Best: Nubia RedMagic 7 Pro (105)
The Xiaomi 11T’s adapter is very efficient, with low residual power drain whether the phone is plugged in or unplugged.
Discharge
Apple iPhone 13 Pro
Best: Apple iPhone 13 Pro (121)
The Xiaomi 11T achieved excellent results for discharge efficiency, thanks to low discharge current in most calibrated uses.
Conclusion
The Xiaomi 11T is an excellent and very well-balanced device overall, performing well in our TUS tests and particularly well in our calibrated autonomy tests. Users can expect nearly 2.5 days of autonomy with moderate use; further, the 11T offers a pleasing and fast charging experience.
