The Poco F4 GT showed uneven performance in battery, with an excellent charging experience, but an underwhelming autonomy.
Despite a respectable 4700 mAh dual-cell battery, the device struggled in all our autonomy-related tests, especially in our on-the-go test where it ranks last of all the devices we’ve tested so far. Poco has not succeeded in taming the very performant and power-hungry Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, leading to high discharge currents across the board, even when compared to other devices that are equipped with the same chipset.
What the Poco F4 GT lacks in autonomy, it makes up for with an outstanding charge experience. You can expect to go from an empty battery to a fully charged one in less than a half an hour. We measured a peak charging power of 113W, just shy of the advertised 120W, but sufficient enough to be among the very best in our rankings. With a very good 81% energy efficiency from the electrical outlet to the battery, the only minor stain on this otherwise excellent charging experience is the adapter’s high residual power consumption when the device is not plugged.
For a phone in the High-End segment, the Poco F4 GT manages to be close to the best in charging, but close to the weakest in autonomy and the weakest in efficiency.

The charge up sub-score is a combination of four factors: the overall efficiency of a full charge, related to how much energy you need to fill up the battery compared to the energy that the battery can provide; the efficiency of the travel adapter when it comes to transferring power from an outlet to your phone; the residual consumption when your phone is fully charged and still plugged into the charger; and the residual consumption of the charger itself, when the smartphone is disconnected from it. The discharge subscore rates the speed of a battery’s discharge during a test, which is independent of the battery’s capacity. It is the ratio of a battery’s capacity divided by its autonomy. A small-capacity battery could have the same autonomy as a large-capacity battery, indicating that the device is well-optimized, with a low discharge rate.
